This project was about a chosen sociological topic and the science behind it. My group's topic of choice was deviance, the scientific word for an action that goes against society. We made a slideshow explaining what it is, why people are deviant, and how the definition of deviancy changes based on culture. We educated the class on what it means to be deviant and how deviancy can be a very different thing depending on what culture or background a person is from. I used this as an artifact because it was a very fun and creative assignment that was easy to put together and educational. It was very informative to me on this topic and helped me get a better grasp over the course. This demonstrates that I excelled a lot in chapters 6 and 7 in the course. I also know how to put together a great presentation with some teamwork.
Course Reflection
Overall, I’d say that sociology has been a fairly good course for me. I was expecting to learn a lot about this subject, which I did. I was somewhat disappointed with many lectures sounding too similar to other lectures but the work loads were rarely ever heavy. The class was a deeper analysis of common sense, as is such with sociology.
